t was good!. I met my friend Kirk at his place. He bought a place a few months before me in kind of the same neighborhood as I. We chatted and drank some fancy beers from CostCo and then hit a couple of bars in his neighborhood. First was Maries. It's a new buiidng that has all these vintage pink booths in the main room. Someone thought it was a good idea to paint the walls pink too. It wasn't. It got crowded quickly. We ate a quesadilla. Kirk ate a humongous bowl of split pea soup. He Liked it. We left and walked to the Your Inn. Established in 1923. I wonder if the pun was intended in 1923. Kirk didn't like it. I was reminded of New Orleans. The only lighting was by flourescent beer lamps. It made Kirks sweater glow. We left after a beer and walked back a block to his home. I hugged him twice on the sidewalk and went home.

Ah yes...the Your Inn Tavern...there's nothing quite like neon illuminated, smoke stained knotty pine paneling...I knew there was a reason I hadn't made it in there yet...now a good reason not to go back.
