Someday Real Estate: LaLaurie Mansion New Orleans

Purported to be the most haunted home in New Orleans, the LaLaurie Mansion is simply one of the finest homes in the United States.

Farewell, 1212 Barracks Street

My friend Ron (Catfish to most) is selling his New Orleans "compound" (it really is). I'm sad for a couple of reasons. I won't have a free place to stay anymore and mostly because he's being driven from his home because of the appalling disregard our lame duck president has for rebuilding one of our country's greatest cities. New Orleans and it's people are completely defeated and it's a disgrace we let them down. I have some of the fondest memories of the people and places that can never be recreated or replaced now. It's too late.

If you have a spare $635,000, it's a true bargain.

Someday Real Estate: French Quarter

This is on Burgundy, one (if not the) of my favorite streets in the Quarter.

It's within stumbling distance of the Rawhide and Good Friends.
